First time taking an electronic training course? Not to worry!

Here are a few study tips to help you get started...

Get familiar with the course you are enrolled in, and know what to expect. Review the course syllabus in detail and contact the course coordinator if you have any questions or concerns.

Become acqainted with the online format. Browse this webpage (moodle) and consult the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section or the Forum if you have any questions.

The course has been divided into sevem modules which in turn have been sub-divided into a few topics. While this is a self-directed course, we recommend that you proceed with the readings and assignments in sequential order. In other words: start with module 1 and move on to module 2 once you have completed module 1, and so on.

Check out the additional readings and give the additional exercises a try. You might be intrigued and perhaps they will guide you in problem-solving a case you are/will be working on!

Find a quiet, comfortable place where you can read and learn undisturbed. Turn this place into your work environment. Avoid clutter or spaces associated with social acclivities or distractions.

This  e-training course has been designed to be completed independently and at your own pace. Take your time but be aware that you have only 15 weeks to complete it. Your enrollment will automatically expire after. So, keep track of your time! Set realistic goals and deadlines for yourself, and stick to them. This will help you make the best of your time and your learning experience.

We recommend that you allow yourself up to two hours to complete a module.

And finally, enjoy and have fun! Use the forum to connect with other e-training learners and exchange thoughts, ideas and comments about refugee resettlement and private refugee sponsorship. You belong to the same community.
